The Bighorn National Forest Headquarters is a 13,533 square foot build-to-suit facility serving a mission-critical function for the Federal Government in Sheridan, Wyoming.
This United States Forest Service location provides oversight for the Bighorn National Forest, which was established in 1897 and covers over 1.12 million acres, including 32 campgrounds, two visitor centers, and over 1,500 miles of trails and is among the oldest of the National Forests. The Headquarters/Supervisor’s Office was constructed in 2000 and underwent significant improvements in 2014-2015, including a complete roof replacement, new carpet and moisture seal, and new interior and exterior paint. The Forest Headquarters occupies a 2.19 acre parcel of land on Eastside Second Street, with immediate access to Interstate 90 and the eastern entrance to the forest. There are two additional district offices under the administration of the Bighorn National Forest Tongue Ranger District and Supervisor’s Office in Sheridan. The Powder River Ranger District Office is located to the south in Buffalo, and the Medicine Wheel Ranger District Office is located to the west in Greybull.
