The Harlingen Border Patrol Facility is a mission critical and highly specialized property leased on a long-term basis to the U.S. Federal Government, located in Harlingen, Texas. Due to the proximity to the border between the United States and Mexico, this facility is extremely important to the mission of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which is an agency within the Department of Homeland Security. The property serves as a major CBP hub, with an area of responsibility that encompasses 1,204 square miles, and 27 miles of river area. The facility also serves as the computer control center for the Remote Visual Surveillance System that is installed throughout the Harlingen Station river area.
