San Diego, CA – October 26, 2017 – The Government Real Estate Group of Cushman & Wakefield announced today the recent sale of an 18,244 square foot, build-to-suit facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico that is leased on a long-term basis to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for use by the Office of the United States Attorneys. Situated adjacent to the federal courthouse in downtown Las Cruces, this office serves as the home of U.S. Attorneys District of New Mexico – Las Cruces Branch, and is responsible for federal prosecutions arising out of the southern portion of New Mexico. The property was acquired by an institutional fund which focuses on government property acquisitions, and was sold on behalf of a development firm based in San Francisco.

“This location for U.S. Attorneys, which was a re-tenanting of the former Las Cruces City Hall building, is a prime example of a comprehensive redevelopment for the GSA which accomplishes the tenant’s objective of securing an updated facility which meets all current security requirements and space needs,” said Travis Trautvetter, Vice Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield and lead broker on the sale. “Facilities occupied by the Office of the U.S. Attorneys are in limited supply and scarcely available for acquisition, which enhanced the appeal of this offering and buyer interest in the property.”
